May I Cancel Or Reschedule My Appointment?

MelaSkin Studio values our clients . We understand that life happens and we try to do our best to accommodate clients when possible. Because of such, we have strict policies for NO-SHOW’s and CANCELLATIONS. We require you to notify us with more than 24 hours notice to protect our service professionals and to provide waitlist clients the opportunity to book new openings. As appointments are booked based upon your convenience, we ask that you reschedule your appointment in advance. REQUESTS TO RESCHEDULE WITH LESS THAN 24 HOUR NOTICE IS A CANCELLATION.

All requested appointments require a 50% deposit. This deposit is refundable if you cancel with MORE THAN 24 HOUR NOTICE. Appointment NO-SHOW’s and appointments CANCELED WITH LESS THAN 24 HR NOTICE WILL FORFIT THEIR DEPOSIT.

How Should I prepare for my Appointment?

-IF YOU HAVE COME IN CONTACT WITH ANYONE THAT HAS HAD COVID-19, PLEASE BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT WHEN YOU HAVE A NEGATIVE COVID TEST RESULT.

-If you are sick, feel a cold/flu coming on or still trying to get rid of your cold/flu symptoms24-72hrs prior to your appointment, please reschedule your appointment for 1-2 weeks later.

-Stop use of any form of exfoliation 5-7 days prior(AHA's, BHA's, enzymes, scrubs, peel pads/wipes, liquid exfoliant or toner)-Stop use of any over the counter Retinol products 3-5 days prior. If you are on a PRESCRIBED topical (Tretinon, Adapalen, Differin, Retin-A, Azeliac Acid) please discontinue use 3-5 days prior to your appointment . PLEASE NOTE THAT CLIENTS WHO ARE ON ACCUTANE, or PRESCRIBED TOPICALS, EXFOLIATION WILL BE AVOIDED.

-Try your best not to pick at your blemishes or ingrown facial hair.

-If you are experiencing severe irritations, allergic reactions, sunburn, eczema flareups, rosacea flare ups, open lesions from picked blemishes or an active/ healing coldsore the week of your appointment, please reschedule for a later date (a week or two). Email us for suggestions on how to keep your skin calm and help the healing process until you can come in for your appointment.

May I wax, laser or shave my facial hair prior to my facial?

To avoid causing irritation, inflammation, sensitivity or Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation, book your laser appointment 2-4 weeks prior to your facial or two weeks after your facial. You can thread facial hair 3 to 5 days prior or after. Wax 5-7 days prior or after. For men and women who shave their face 5 days prior or 5 days after.
